Alfred Nelson Stutts, age 92 passed on the morning of June 17th at Life Care Center of Columbia.
Alfred was born on February 26, 1925 in Waynesboro, TN to the late Alford Haywood Stutts and Ella Catherine Pope. Alfred faithfully served his country in the United States Army before being honorably discharged in 1946. He was awarded the Purple Heart as well as the Bronze Star during his service. He would later go to work for Monsanto here in Columbia, where he would later retire.
Alfred’s life will be celebrated on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee with Bob Vasser and Dennis Satterfield officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens, with a committal in The Arbors. The family will visit with friends on Sunday, June 18, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again one hour prior to the service at Williams Funeral Home.
Mr. Stutts is survived by his daughters Carolyn (David) Lewis, Linda Stutts, Catherine “Kitty” Parker, and Jane Hubbell; granddaughters Lindsey Parker and Julie Hubbell; great granddaughters Jasmine Webster and Jordan Buell; great grandson Wesley Nelson Buell.
Mr. Stutts was preceded in death by his wife Mary Frances Stutts; sisters Juanita Mayberry and Jessie Lacher; and brothers Robert “Bobby” Stutts and Billy Stutts.
Honorary pallbearers are David Lewis, Don Briggs, Charles Brown, and Enoch George.
