Alex Borodychuk

July 25, 1941 — August 17, 2009

Alexander J. "Rebel" Borodychuk, Jr., age 68, a resident of Cliff White Road, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2009, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Alex will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. William Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Born on July 25, 1941 in Tuscola County, MI, he was the son of the late Alexander John Borodychuk, Sr., and Evelyn Hool Borodychuk. He was the husband of Paula McClearen Borodychuk of Columbia. Alex was a devoted lifelong machinist technician for General Motors Corporation and retired from Saturn Corporation in 2005. He also worked for John Deere for approximately 11 years.

Alex enjoyed his grandchildren, teaching them mechanical skills along with riding go carts and motorcycles. He also enjoyed his back five down by the river on his Gator. He was a loving father and devoted husband and brother.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his children: Lonnie Rhonda Borodychuk of Colona, IL and Cami James Schwenneker of Erie, IL; step-children: Wannene Ricky Chatman of Mt. Pleasant, Gina McCrary of Columbia and Philip Brandy Eddleman of Spring Hill; an adopted son: Larry Gwen Lax of IA; sisters: Leatha Dale Cudworth, Diane Mathis, Janet Gideon Robarge and Shelley Kevin Youngert, all of MI and brothers: Ron Lindsey Borodychuk and Kerry Linda Borodychuk, both of MI; grandchildren: Brian. Aaron, Jennifer, Kyle, Shawn, Katelyn, Nicole, Elisha, Rick, Andrea, Lannie, Christian, A.J. and Haley; great-grandchildren: Jacob, Kaleb, Prentice, Serenity, Alora, Maria, Jeffery III, Brenten, Zac, Nate, Kristin & Caden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Karl, Jimmy and Michael, a sister-in-law: Karen and a grandson, Jeffery, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Brian Borodychuk, Aaron Borodychuk, Larry Lax, Shawn Schwenneker, Lannie Lake and Christian McCrary.
