Alan Paul "Al" Aigner, age 66. A celebration of life ceremony will be conducted Wednesday, October 7, at 11 a.m. at The People's Church, 828 Murfreesboro Road, Franklin, TN. The service will be officiated by Pastors Rick White, Ken Morris, and Dennis Wells.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 6, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
Born on August 19, 1943 in Chicago, IL, Al was the son of the late George H. Aigner and Hertha E. Tatter Aigner. He is survived by his wife Karen Blevins Aigner. Survivors in addition to his wife include his children: Charles "Max" Rebel Lee Aigner and Abby Scott; grandchildren: Elliana Aigner, and Evan and Jameson O'Dell; his step-children: Lacy Wilber and Cara Phillip Ladd; his three sisters: Beatrice H. Daryl Kendall, Cheryl Wells, and Faith E. Al Krumin; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
After graduating from Columbia International University of Columbia, S.C., Al served 11 years in the US Navy as a Naval flight instructor. Al later was the owner of Tek Search, which specialized in recruiting for engineering, manufacturing, and operations personnel. After retirement, he served as a funeral assistant with Williams Funeral Homes and was working toward his funeral director's apprenticeship at the time of his illness.
Al was an active member of the People's Church of Franklin, a Promise Keeper, and served in leadership roles in Big Dawgs for Christ. Al was very active in serving in the Room In the Inn, and he and his wife volunteered for the ministries of Royal Family Kids Camp and Kidz Praise.
Pallbearers will be Frank Thomas, Monty Gilliam, Mike Andrews, Bill Stewart, and Bob Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Sheriff Enoch George, the staff of Williams Funeral Home, the staff of the Henry Joyce Cancer Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and members of Al's Sunday School Class of the Peoples Church.
