Alan "Mate" Hughes

Mr. Alan “Mate” Hughes, age 56, of Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 unexpectedly due to an illness at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Alan was born on October 17, 1959, in Chatham Kent, England to Anthony Amos Hughes and Shirley Anne Regan Hughes. On January 18, 1980 he married Kim Sellers and he was an amazing soulmate, dad and PaPaw. He was a former route manager with Ryder Logistics. Also, he was a former member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church in Columbia. Alan will be truly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and friends.
Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife: Kim Sellers Hughes of Columbia; sons: Adam Hughes and Darren Hughes both of Columbia; grandsons: Bentley and Jayden Hughes; siblings: Neil (Mary) Hughes and Donna (Kenny) Baulcomb all of England; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Alan’s life will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at New Life Church of Columbia with Darryl Martin officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Alan’s name to the Youth Ministry of New Life Church of Columbia, 6111 Cayce Lane, Columbia, Tennessee 38401.
