Addie Lorene Vest Dousay, 89 of Spring Hill, passed on unto Heaven on Tuesday, July 2, 2013.
Addie was born to the late Howard and Zola Childers Vest in Paxton, Kentucky. She married her husband, Arthur Dousay, who later passed in 1995. For her work, she would babysit children and use her caregiving skills for others as well. She really loved people and had a vivid memory of all that she met. Family and friends would say that Addie could have been a reporter who would not have needed the notebook. She carries a lot of memories to Heaven with her. Ms. Dousay loved her family and when her grandchildren would visit, her face would light up. Nothing made her happier than writing and receiving letters, whether it be from a local friend or one of her many pen pals from all over the country. Addie really loved music but had a real passion for playing her guitar in her younger days.
The funeral service for Ms. Addie Dousay will be Friday, July 5 at 12:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
Addie is survived by: her daughter, Euna (Guy) Houston; four sons, Howard Mitchell (Ireta) Dousay, Shelton (Vivian) Dousay, David Gene Dousay, and Steven Willard Dousay; nine grandchildren, Cliff (Missy) Houston, Eric Houston, Rebecca (Ellis Ricky) Caldwell, Virginia (Mark) Andrlik, Howard (Valerie) Dousay, Timothy (Teresa) Dousay, Renee Dousay, Dedra Reed, and Dustin Dousay; 17 great-grandchildren, one brother, George Willard Vest; two sisters, Vern Wray and Willa Mae Hurst; numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
