Ada Burns Hughes was born August 8, 1920 in Williamson County, the daughter of the late George Washington Burns and Annie Hughes Burns. She was the wife of the late Ray Hughes.
Ada was retired as a seamstress with Weather Tamer and enjoyed making craft items. She was a member of the Mooresville Pike Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons: Bobby Susan Hughes of Unionville and Jesse Peggy Hughes of Columbia; four grandchildren: Shane Stacy Hughes and Troy Melissa Hughes, both of Columbia; Jessica Hughes of Johannesburg, South Africa and Janet Hughes of Bowling Green, KY; three great-grandchildren: Amelia Hughes, Lauren Hughes and Madalyn Hughes; one sister: Elva Baker of Nashville. In addition to her husband and parents, Ada was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Hughes passed away on Wednesday, January 19, at Williamson Medical Center.
Graveside services for Mrs. Ada will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Bro. Dorris Rader officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 5:00 ? 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
