Aaron Maurice Jones
July 27, 1915 — October 3, 2013
Mr. Aaron Maurice Jones, age 98 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away October 3, 2013 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Aaron was born July 27, 1915 to the late John Shelby Jones and Hattie “Ferguson” Jones. He was married for 66 wonderful years to Lois “Boshears” Jones.
He worked for IAC for twenty years as a phosphate miner in Mt. Pleasant as well as operating a bridge crane. He finally retired in 1982 from Farmer’s Construction as a dragline operator. Mr. Jones was a man of God and a member of Allensville Baptist Church. He was a Deacon there for 64 years. He always enjoyed visiting with people whether in the hospital or the funeral home. His family described him simply saying, He just worked and went to church.
Visitation will be Saturday 4:00-8:00 PM October 5, 2013 at Williams Funeral Home Mt. Pleasant. Services will be October 6, 2013 at 2:00 PM with interment at Arlington cemetery to follow.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
Honorary Pallbearers are Allensville Baptist Church members and neighbors.
Aaron is survived by his: Sons: Steve Jones and Roger (Rosanna) Jones; Daughters: Janice Jones, Diane (Ronnie) Watson, and Marsha (Jerry) Goodman; Grand Daughters: Danielle (Greg) Brown, Erica Jones, Suzanne Jones, Karen Jones, Kristen Goodman; Grand Sons: Robin Jones and Brandon Goodman; and 6 Great Grand Children.
He was preceded in death by his son Glenn Jones 1 year ago.
