Consumer's Guide to Cremation

CREMATION is the process of reducing the body to ash containing bone fragment, yet may not be considered a form of final disposition. Many people believe that at the time of death only two basic options exist: immediate cremation of the body or a complete funeral including viewing, followed by burial.

Cremation with Services

Just like burial, cremation can occur after a funeral where the casket is present at one's place of worship or a funeral chapel. The only real difference between a funeral followed by burial is that the remains are taken to the crematory after the service in lieu of a procession to the cemetery.

As is customary, the service may be preceded by a period of visitation or a reception at the funeral home.
